BackBromley Youth Music Trust Concert in the Old Royal Naval Chapel 7.30 pm Saturday 7 March 2009

03 March 2009

This promises to be a wonderful evening of music in the stunning setting of the Old Royal Naval Chapel. It will also be an opportunity to commemorate anniversaries of two of this countrys finest composers, namely the 350th anniversary of the birth of Henry Purcell (1659 -1695) and the 250th anniversary of the death of Georg Frederic Handel (1685 1759).

The first half of the concert contains 2 pieces by Mozart, his Divertimento in F K138 and the sublime Sinfonia Concertante K364 for violin, viola and orchestra which features the sisters Bryony and Georgia Morrison ( former students of BYMT and now at the Royal Academy of Music) as soloists. After the interval, the Bromley Youth Chamber Orchestra will be joined by the BYMT choir and soloists for a performance of Purcells Come Ye Sons of Art. Again we are delighted to welcome back former BYMT students Bryony Mycroft (BYCO principal viola 2004-5 and current student at RCM) and Ed Grint among our vocal soloists. The concert will finish with Handels Water Music Suite no.2 in D.

Tickets ᆪ15 and ᆪ12 available from BYMT or on the door.
